- 1 egg (beaten)
- Fresh parsley or rosemary (chopped)
- Kosher salt
- Garlic powder
- Unsalted butter (melted)
- Unsalted butter (softened)
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine warmed milk, yeast, and sugar; mix in flour, sourdough discard, beaten egg, herbs, salt, and garlic powder.
- Gradually add melted butter while mixing until a shaggy dough forms. Knead the dough on a clean surface for about 3-4 minutes until smooth.
- Transfer dough to a greased bowl; cover and let rise for 60-90 minutes until doubled in size.
- While rising, mix softened butter with herbs and seasoning for the topping; set aside.
- Divide risen dough into twelve equal pieces. Flatten each piece, spread the butter mixture, fold like a taco, and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise again for 30-45 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F.
