Instructions

  2. Whisk together buttermilk and hot sauce in one bowl; combine flour, cornstarch, and spices in another.

  4. Heat oil to 350ºF and fry each piece until golden brown (about 3 minutes per side). Ensure internal temperature reaches 165ºF.
  5. Mix hot frying oil with brown sugar and spices; baste chicken while hot.
  6. Assemble sandwiches with mayo on buns topped with fried chicken, coleslaw, and pickles.
