Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. Add grated ginger and minced garlic during the last two minutes of cooking.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. After draining excess fat from the skillet, mix brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes into the pan.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add to the skillet and simmer until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Toss cooked noodles in the skillet with the sauce for even coating before serving.
