- 1 cup (220 g) light brown sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1/3 cup (116 g) honey
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp (84 g) unsalted butter
- 6 oz (170 g) cream cheese
- 3/4 cup (97 g) powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp ground allspice
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- Pinch of cloves
Instructions
- Warm milk to 110°F and bloom yeast with sugar for 5-10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, spices, salt, eggs, vanilla extract, softened butter, and bloomed yeast mixture until combined.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth.
- Allow dough to rise in a greased bowl for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Prepare filling by steeping chai tea bags in heavy cream and mixing with other filling ingredients.
