Ingredients
- 125g unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 3–4 large Granny Smith apples, diced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180C (350F). Grease and line an 8" square pan.
- In a bowl, combine melted butter, flour, white sugar, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
- Mix in the beaten egg until well combined.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan for the base layer.
- Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown; let cool slightly.
- While cooling, mix diced apples with additional flour, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Spread apple mixture over the cooled base and crumble remaining dough on top.
- Bake for another 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
