Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups Domino® Golden Sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 cups unsalted butter
- 8 cups Domino® Powdered Sugar
- 2 tsp almond extract
- 3–5 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- Salt, to taste
- Red and blue gel icing color
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a stand mixer, cream together butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition; stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add dry ingredients alternating with milk until just combined.
- Scoop batter into lined sheets and bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before decorating with buttercream frosting.
